WHAT WE BELIEVE

Statement of Faith

1. We believe that the sixty-six books of the Bible (Old and New Testaments) are the inspired, the only infallible, sufficient, and authoritative Word of God.

2. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

3. We believe that Adam, as the representative head of humanity, was originally created in a sinless condition (as was Eve) by the direct creative act of God as recorded in the opening chapters of the book of Genesis. This first human couple, created originally sinless, both fell from their sinless condition by a voluntary act of sin. Consequently all people, as descendants Adam, the head of the race, are sinners both by nature and by conduct and therefore stand justly under the condemnation of God.

4. We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, His bodily resurrection and ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His personal bodily return in power and glory.

5. We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.

6. We believe that a person is justified by grace through faith alone in the Lord Jesus Christ.

7. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is progressively sanctified (utilizing especially the church and the Scriptures) and finally glorified.

8. We believe that the Church, the Body of Christ, is composed of all true believers who are placed into the body by the baptizing work of the Holy Spirit and is to be governed by the Scriptures and whose mission is to make disciples through evangelism, baptism, and doctrinal teaching. We believe that biblical counseling is a significant part of this discipleship process and thus is a vital ministry that the Church must utilize in order to faithfully carry out its mission.

9. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: the saved unto the resurrection of life, and the lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
